From my standpoint:
She has little scabs all over her body and a huge hairless spot on her back right leg... any ideas?
In medical terms:
3 yr old female domestic long hair feline, small sores and lesions scattered over the entire body over more than 50% of the skin's surface with small amts of alopecia. Also a large localized lesion on the entire caudal surface of the right hind limb completely sloughed with 100% alopecia.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
For all those people who have a "I'm better than you and you suck at life attitude" her vet appt is tomorrow, I'm just worried about her NOW!!! so shut your holier than thou face...
Whats wrong with my cat's skin?kindof sounds like ring worm too a common thing in cats, my cat had it and lost most of the hair on her face as it spread, be careful and wash u're hands if it is ring worm then u can get it too by not being careful. Vet will tell you more don't worry too much as long as the cat is eating and drinking water and using the litter box and not throwing up everywhere she will be ok till sees the vet.
Whats wrong with my cat's skin?It sounds like it could be feline miliary dermatitis. Your vet may give you some shampoos or topical treatments to put on your cat, but he or she also may give your cat a depo medrol or another type of steroid injection to help with the itching. While the injection will help with the itching, it may not cure it since it may be attributed to allergies. You could try a food trial and eliminate all types of grain from her diet if you have not already. If it does not clear up, you may need to take her to a vet dermatologist. Good luck with your kitty.
