I have heard you can take advil and such for period discomfort. I can't sleep when on my period. I get maybe one to 2 hours of sleep. My period last from say Thrusday to Wednesday. I get it mixed up whether thats 6 or 7 days. I started on Thrusday at 3:15ish. I remember that because I knew it started and we only had ten minutes of school left. I'm thirteen. My mom said that Midol, Advil, Aspirin, and Ibprofin make periods irregular and heavier. On the other side, she also said tampons would steal my virginity, so to her I'm unpure. I can't stand pads. I have ULTRA sensitive skin. I use Kotex Super tampons or PlaytexSport regular. I have to use Super this cycle. What can I do. I want to shorten my period, but I don't have a doctor, we go to the urgent care. We are low income and I don't comfortly talk to mom. Please help.
Can i take pills for my period?Go to Planned Parenthood. They will advise you on good options of birth control for this particular case and will advise your mother that tampons do not take virginity. There is a Planned Parenthood almost everywhere so look in the phonebook and get the number. Also, you could try the local health department. They give free birth contol and birth control counseling, as well.
Can i take pills for my period? You can take Advil, Tylenol, whatever for period discomfort. It won't mess up your period, at least it never did to mine. You can't really shorten your period, unless you use birth control, at least I've never heard of such a thing. Depending on how old you are you can go to the dr and ask about what kind of programs that you can get on to get birth control. The take charge program is what I am on, but you have to say that the birth control is to prevent pregnancy, not for your periods. At least that is what I was told.
