Acid rain causes damage in several ways. It dissolves materials such as marble and metal. Lots of monuments and buildings have been destroyed in this way. Thousands of lakes in Canada and United States are affected by this problems until no fish can live in them. Acid rain can weaken trees and cause them to die. Large areas of forests in Europe, North America and China have been destroyed in this manner. Too much acid rain in air can irritate our eyes and skin, harm our lungs and caused cancer and breathing problems.

Acid rain causes a lot of problem to human beings and nature. What can we do to help reducing acid rain?

Acid rain is the result of air pollution caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Sulfur oxides and nitrous oxides are byproducts of the combustion from automobiles. When these enter the atmosphere they mix with the water vapor that is there and become acids which then come down in the precipitation. This affects plants and infrastructure alike.
